Tale of the Hunt

My hunting buddy Dick Olcott were hunting on May 3, 2005 in a field in Westport, N.Y. We split up and were watching 2 different fields.

I spotted 3 hen and a gobbler feeding in the field I was watching. Called Dick on the radio and told him to move over to the edge of my field.

The hens kept feeding toward Dick and then they turned toward me. The old gobbler came right along.

After about 3/4 of an hour, they finally got to me. The hens were looking me right in the eye for a few seconds and I could not even move. Then they turned and fed to my right and the gobbler followed them and came with in range. He was in full strut but I had to shoot.

He weight 18lbs 9 1/2" beard 1/2" spurs 1st 2005 turkey
