Tale of the Hunt

My oldest son Wayne and I went to one of our favorite hunting fields. I set up in a fence row and Wayne went to another fence line about 200 yards from me looking into another field. I was set up before daylight and waited to see if anything gobbled. Nothing did because the wind was blowing real hard.

By 5:00, Wayne called me on the radio and told me 2 tom's had flown down in my field and were coming at my decoys. They came right up to my Jake decoy and strutted around. I had to wait until he turned in order to get a shot. Finally he turned and I shot.

He had a 9 and 3/4 beard. What a bird!
