I set up in a cypress swamp at first light. I had two Gobblers fired up on the roost about 200 yards away. I called ever so lightly and moved in to close the distance some. After 10 minutes, he was on the ground and still gobbling. I had closed the distance to within 50 yards but could not get a visual. Then.......he shut up.

I decided to play hard to get and backed up 50 yards, set up my dekes, and called very softly. No response for over a half hour. Then, out at 50 yards I see a red head pop up out of the grass. He made his way in very slow and closed the distance to under 20 yards.

I took him!!!!! A very nice public land Gobbler.
