This is my first turkey, and first time turkey hunting. I did my homework, but had a lot of luck. I hunted alone opening day on my Dad's farm in Breckenridge county. The big gobbler was taken at 9:15 am. It weighed 24 or so pounds (didn't have accurate scales), 11 inch beard, 1 1/4 inch spurs. No decoys. Quaker boy diaphragm, diamond cut.

I'm so hooked now, all I can think about is next spring. I hunted every chance I could after opening day, but didn't get another shot. I called in a couple of birds, but never got them close enough.

Fall will be here soon!
