Fall 2005 - The number of wild turkey
licenses available for North Dakota's fall hunting
season is down 16 percent from a year ago, officials
say.
"Turkey numbers have declined in many
parts of the state due to increased hunting
pressure and lower-than-average reproductive
rates," said Randy Kreil, wildlife chief
for the state Game and Fish Department.
He said 9,230 licenses are available, down
from 10,980. The season opens Saturday, Oct.
8, and runs through Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006.
