Another change approved for 2007 was the expansion
of Unit 3 into northcentral Kansas, which allows
hunters in that area of the state to take a
second gobbler with a second turkey game tag.
Second turkey game tags are available only in
units 2 (eastern Kansas) and 3 (southcentral,
central, and northcentral Kansas).
The department anticipates that 42,000 spring
turkey permits and 14,600 second turkey game
tags will be issued in 2007.
