David was born in
New Franklin, PA and move to Fayetteville
in 1928. He and his wife, Rebecca,
had one son and two daughters. David
was a carpenter and opened up his
own wood shop in the 1940's where
he made turkey calls, built and
refinished furniture, and made gun
cabinets and other wood items.
David was an avid
hunter and also a gun enthusiast.
He spend many hours hunting, observing
wildlife and working on guns and
of course making turkey calls. No
one is sure how many of his calls
were produced but best guesses say
less than 1,000.

Turkey Call
This is an
example of David's walnut
scratch box. It measure 5
3/4" long by 3/4"
by 1". He started making
calls in the 1940's and continued
up through the 1960's. He
sold his shop in 1970 so it's
doubtful any calls were produced
after this.

have any markings on it.
